Jenna

Coach Jenna comes to the club with a passion for health and wellness. She started playing sports from a young age, from dance to hockey. She has experience as a youth athlete in both recreational and competitive levels.

She started coaching when her kids were little as a way to share her love of sports and empower them to grow and nurture their own athletic abilities. From soccer, baseball, and football, she has coached and trained across several sports and all age groups.

Coach Jenna empowers her athletes to be strong, dedicated, and focus on health and well-being in sport. Her health care background has helped her share and encourage athletes to train safely and optimize movements through safe sport and concussion awareness and prevention.

Bri2

Head Coach

Bri

Coach Bri began her volleyball journey at the age of 11, competing at the club level and quickly developing a lifelong passion for the sport. By the age of 20, while pursuing her degree in education, she stepped into coaching—and hasn't looked back since. Over the years, Coach Bri has brought her energy and expertise to programs across Alberta, Toronto, and then most recently to founding LUVC.

Her coaching highlights include several provinical top 3 finishes, a national gold medal, and the success of many former athletes who have gone on to compete at the post-secondary level or become coaches themselves. For Coach Bri, these milestones reflect not only athletic achievement but also the growth and development of well-rounded individuals.

As a mental health professional, Coach Bri is deeply committed to fostering grit, resilience, and self-compassion in her athletes. She believes that youth sports offer powerful life lessons, helping young people navigate challenges, build character, and celebrate success.

Coach Bri's philosophy is simple but impactful: it's more important to be a good person than a good volleyball player. Her coaching approach emphasizes confidence, teamwork, and personal integrity—alongside strong fundamentals and a love for the game.

Korry

Head Coach

Korry

Coach Korry joins us for her second season, having coached with our U16 Elevate team last year. With a lifelong passion for volleyball, Coach Korry spent her playing career as a setter, appreciating the opportunity to be involved in every play and help execute game plans. While competitive post-secondary volleyball wasn't in the cards, Coach Korry remains deeply connected to the world of sport through her role in the Department of Recreation and Athletics at Carleton University, where she focuses on ticket sales and student engagement with the varsity teams.

Her dedication to the sport extends to volunteering with Volleyball Canada at various events in the Ottawa area. On the court, Coach Korry enjoys the analytical side of the game. She loves digging into stats and using them to shape training, believing that a strong volleyball IQ is the key to transforming good teams into great ones. Beyond the Xs and Os, Coach Korry is a firm believer in the holistic benefits of sport. She sees volleyball as the ultimate team sport, fostering essential skills like communication, collaboration, resilience, accountability, and goal-setting. Interestingly, Coach Korry's athletic background also includes a significant commitment to Karate, where she earned a black belt at 13 after years of high-level training and competition in Perth. Many valuable lessons from that journey, such as discipline and perseverance, are now woven into her coaching philosophy.

Ultimately, Coach Korry's goal is to cultivate a positive and valuing environment for athletes. She wants to lead by example through hard work, dedication, and fun, creating a space where athletes feel safe to fail, knowing that trying and learning are the most important steps. As Hannah Montana wisely put it, "Nobody's perfect, you live and you learn it!"

Troy

Head Coach

Troy

Before relocating to Perth with his family and joining LUVC, Troy had coached with Durham Attack, one of Canada’s premiere volleyball clubs, for over 15 years. There, he coached various age groups from 12U to 18U, including house leagues, specialized developmental camps, private performance camps, mental strength development camps, and off-court physical training sessions for both men’s and women’s programs. Troy’s focus had been 17-18u programs and preparing players for post secondary opportunities. Many players coached by Troy have played on post secondary teams or semi professionally, but more importantly many have gone on to coach themselves for love of the game and have become volleyball players for life!

Troy has also participated in numerous technical developmental workshops for coaches, collaborating with some of Canada’s most influential trainers like Dustin Reid (TMU), Dwayne Cochrane (DC), and Ian Ibbit (BrockU). He has had the privilege of collaborating on club programs like the Cognitive Coach, with Professional Sports Psychologists and Certified Mental Performance PHDs Kyle Paquette and Brenley Shapiro, who both train mental toughness and VMR with professional and Olympic athletes across various sports including organizations like Curling Canada and Arizona Coyotes.

In addition to comprehensive volleyball motor development, Troy integrates significant training cues in his programs to help players elevate their performance through mental strength, resilience development, and VMR. Two of his favorite expressions are “Play without fear” and “Play for yourself.”

Mark

Assistant Coach

Mark

Coach Mark is what happens when boundless enthusiasm collides headfirst with minimal volleyball experience—and somehow, it works. While his vertical jump is mostly theoretical and his bump technique is… abstract at best, Mark shows up for (almost) every practice with unmatched passion and a playlist from 1997. (Exceptions apply during lobster season and maple syrup season—he has his priorities). He may not demonstrate to you how to spike, but he will remind you to believe in yourself, hydrate, and always tie your shoelaces before warmups (even if he forgets what a K1 is).

What Coach Mark lacks in volleyball skills, he makes up for in motivational speeches that may or may not involve movie references, dramatic hand gestures, and occasional interpretive dance. His goal? To help every player feel like an MVP. He’s not just coaching volleyball—he’s coaching vibes.

She started playing volleyball in grade 4 at school, fell in love with the game, and played until her third year of college. She has experience playing all positions throughout her career and is grateful to share her knowledge with the next generation of players in Lanark County!

Alana believes in having fun, giving it all you got, and supporting your teammates.

KYLE

We are excited to have Coach Kyle return for his third season, a coach who notably led our U15 team to a Provincial Silver Medal in 2024, and our U16s in 2024-2025. While he has played volleyball his whole life, playing various positions, his athletic background also includes a strong focus on competitive club basketball. Kyle's entry into volleyball coaching was unexpected, but he quickly found it to be a big passion. His coaching philosophy centers around the belief that hard work and fun go hand-in-hand. He believes in creating an energetic environment and is known for being quick with a joke to keep spirits high. Strategically, Kyle enjoys focusing on the offensive game, adept at finding the optimal mix of powerful hits and intelligent play choices.

Leveraging his professional background as a CPA, Kyle brings a distinct strength to the court with his keen understanding and application of statistics and numbers, providing his teams with data-driven insights. More than just tactics, Kyle is driven to coach because he wants to impart the incredible life lessons that
sport offers, such as time management, organization, discipline, hard work, and teamwork, skills he values deeply from his own athletic journey.

Head Coach

Leah

Coach Leah first discovered her love for volleyball in Grade 7 after spending several years playing basketball. While she enjoyed competing on her school teams in Grades 7 and 8, it was making the team in Grade 9 that truly sparked her passion for the sport. Although she had always dreamed of playing club volleyball, the opportunity wasn’t available locally—until a new club was established in her area. Eager to be part of something she had long hoped for, Leah jumped at the chance to get involved.

After completing her Bachelor of Social Work at Carleton University, Coach Leah began her coaching journey during the 2023–2024 season as an assistant coach with the U13 team alongside Coach Bri and Coach Jenna. She later moved up to the U15 level, where she found the perfect balance between refining foundational skills and introducing more advanced techniques. She’s excited to return to the U15 bench this season as a head coach.

Outside of coaching she is completing her teacher education at SUNY Potsdam and hopes to teach at the elementary level in Lanark County one day.

Coaching Philosophy:
“I believe in coaching with a growth mindset—where effort, learning, and resilience matter most. My goal is to help athletes not only improve their skills but also grow as individuals. I value character, discipline, and respect just as much as performance, and I strive to create an environment where challenges are seen as opportunities to grow.”

Shannon

Head Coach

Shannon

Shannon brings a lifelong passion for sports, fitness, and mentorship to the volleyball court. Growing up, she explored a wide variety of sports, focusing on horseback riding in her early years before discovering a love for volleyball, which she has played for the past seven years.

When she’s not on the court, Shannon can usually be found in the gym lifting weights, doing CrossFit, or cheering on her family’s activities. She’s recently jumped into CrossFit competitions and loves pushing herself to new challenges—something she hopes to inspire in her athletes too.

With a background in health care and teaching, Shannon is equipped to support her players both physically and emotionally. She understands how to nurture confidence, encourage growth, and help athletes overcome challenges. Her previous coaching experience in soccer and volunteering at swim meets reflects her belief in giving back to youth sports and fostering a positive environment.

Shannon’s goal as a coach is simple: to create a fun, positive environment where players feel supported, challenged, and excited to reach their full potential. She believes the skills her athletes develop—teamwork, resilience, and confidence—will serve them not just on the court, but in every aspect of their lives.
